| Civic Safai Karamcharis call off strike, resume duties | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 2: The five-day long stalemate ended on Friday after indefinite strike of Jammu Municipal Corporation Civic Safai Karamcharis was called off following written assurance from the Jammu Mayor and the JMC Commissioner to fulfil their long pending demands.
The administration led by Mayor Chander Mohan Gupta, Deputy Mayor Purnima Sharma and JMC Commissioner this morning called on the Unions leaders and appealed them to call off their strike after fulfilling their long pending demands. Union President Rinku Gill soon after calling off the strike, said that the demands of regularization of 33 contractual drivers in JMC and regularisation of around 181 Safai Karamchari will soon be fulfilled. |
