JAMMU, Feb 28: A landslide hit Jammu-Srinagar national highway on Monday shutting it for traffic near Samroli in Udhampur district, a traffic police official said. He advised the passengers not to travel on the highway till the clearance work is completed.
"It will take more than a day for clearance," he said adding that nearly 300 Jammu bound light motor vehicles, which reached the site after landslide in Magherkote was cleared, are stranded at Samroli.
Earlier the highway reopened for traffic on Sunday and the authorities had announced two-way traffic on the highway for Monday. |
