Jammu, Feb 28: Land earmarked for Bhagwati Nagar Stadium here has turned into a garbage dumping ground. According to the residents whenever any political rally is held in this ground this ground is turned into a neat and clean place. “But once the rally is over, this ground turns into a dumping space. Load carriers carrying garbage arrive and dump it here.
We have no place left to play. We were once told that an indoor stadium will be built here but later we were informed that an outdoor stadium will come up here. But till date nothing has been built, neither an indoor stadium nor an outdoor stadium,” locals said.
“We appeal to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to do something for the youth and direct the concerned authorities at least to construct a boundary wall so that entry doesn’t remain free to all,” they added. |
