Reasi, Dec 28: Government General Zorawar Singh Memorial Degree College in Reasi achieved a significant milestone as it successfully concluded a one-day workshop on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) under the guidance of Principal Dr. Kulvinder Kour. The workshop, organized by Dr. Narinder Sharma in collaboration with IIC, Viksit Bharat Abhiyan Committee, and the Department of Biotechnology, aimed to enlighten participants about the crucial aspects of IPR.
The resource persons for the event were Dr. Yash Pal Khajuria, Assistant Professor of Biotechnology at the University of Jammu, and Dr. Jagjeet Singh, Assistant Professor of Chemistry at GDC Udhampur. The workshop drew enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members, and individuals eager to gain insights into the intricacies of IPR.
The college principal emphasized the workshop’s significance, expressing the institution’s commitment to empowering its stakeholders with knowledge, skills, and ethical values. Initiatives like the IPR workshop align with the college’s mission to nurture future leaders and innovators capable of making a positive impact on the world.
During the event, Dr. Romesh Attri, Associate Professor of Botany, and Dr. Narinder Sharma highlighted the relevance of such workshops for budding entrepreneurs and academicians. Prof. Norin Akhtar, Convener IIC, skillfully guided the proceedings. The workshop commenced with an inaugural session that underscored the importance of IPR in today’s digital age, followed by insightful sessions, interactive panels, and engaging discussions. Guest speakers demystified complex IPR concepts, sharing valuable insights, case studies, and practical applications. Prof. Palvinder Kumari delivered the vote of thanks, acknowledging the collective efforts that contributed to the success of the workshop.
