2/6/2016 11:49:39 PM
Peerzada Ummer Early Times Report Srinagar, Feb 6: The PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti has reportedly made up her mind to call it off a day and opt for fresh elections in the state, PDP sources told Early Times on Saturday. They said the PDP chief is holding hectic deliberations with her party cadre in this regard and wants to take them into confidence before she takes the final decision. The PDP insiders revealed that Mehbooba is likely to meet the Governor NN Vohra soon and inform him about the party's decision to say goodbye to BJP. The PDP chief, according to the sources, is keen to prepare her party for the fresh elections in the state, believing the party would be able to sweep the polls, if held in near future. However, sources divulged that there are several senior party leaders who are not in favour of fresh polls in Jammu and Kashmir. "They are of the opinion that party may lose some seats if it opts for the midterm polls," insiders revealed. Crumbling coalition
2/6/2016 11:49:24 PM
Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 6: PDP president Mehbooba Mufti has, it seems, made up her mind to snap ties with the BJP and go to the people to seek a fresh mandate. This became clear during her meeting with the party legislators and workers in Jammu on the last day of her stay in the winter capital of the State. Her decision to attend the budget session of the Indian Parliament beginning from February 23 only indicated that she was not at all in hurry and that she was thinking in terms of some major political game-a game that would help her party to rout the NC and become the major force in the Valley like the pre-1996 NC. Her remark that "she can't form Government in the air" was all ...

BJP unlikely to get support of 19 MLAs
2/6/2016 11:49:01 PM
ET Report JAMMU, Feb 6: The BJP is believed toying with the idea of forming the Government on its own after its partner, the PDP, laid a number of preconditions for forging again an alliance for forming the Government. Will it be easy for the BJP, which has 25 members in the Assembly to form the Government? Possibilities seem to be bleak because the BJP needs the support of 19 MLAs to achieve the magic figure of 44 required for forming the Government. BJP sources claim that it has assured support of between three and seven MLAs but that will not help it to get the required number of 44 seats. Yes, it could slightly improve its chances if it gets support from the National Conference wh...
