SRINAGAR, Sept 24: After over two months of continued unrest in Kashmir, the people of civil lines here have started openly defying the Hurriyat calendar, leaving the separatist leadership unnerved.
For the past few days, markets function as normal in areas like Raj Bagh, Jawahar Nagar and Sanat Nagar, while traffic movement is so high that traffic jams are witnessed frequently in these areas quite frequently.
Not only this, some shops are seen operational in Maharaja Bazar near the commercial hub of Lal Chowk, where otherwise stone pelting used to be observed till a fortnight back.

JAMMU, Sept 24: Irked over the alleged attempts of former minister and PCC general secretary Dr Manohar Lal Sharma to project himself bigger than size in the party, the Pradesh Congress Committee president G A Mir is mulling to clip his wings.
To show Dr Manohar Lal his place, a show cause notice is likely to be served him by the PCC Disciplinary Committee for his participation in recently held public meetings of the dissident camp in Hiranagar and Bishnah, informed sources in the Congress circles.

In July 2015, the state Cabinet approved state's first-ever disaster management plan.
