Is Govt playing with governance in JK? | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 30: The National Conference-Congress coalition Government in Jammu and Kashmir is playing with governance in the State as they are only concerned about their chair and power. They are just taking toll on the governance in the State where Government machinery is only waiting for the cat and mouse war between these coalition partners. Playing a drama over the creation of new administrative units and then reaching out to Congress high command in New Delhi by the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah was nothing but a ploy to save his chair which was in danger after he tweeted last week over the issue. Now, it seems that he has convinced Congress high command that if they are able to save his chair, he will not push for the implementation of Mushtaq Ganai committee report on creation of new administrative units. On Saturday, the State Cabinet will meet in Jammu and the Cabinet Sub-Committee has to submit its report to the Cabinet. The Cabinet had to take a final call on these recommendations and Ganai committee report so that a justifiable solution is reached where everybody gets some share. Going by his past statements, it seems that Omar Abdullah was in a hurry to implement the Ganai committee report so that he is able to get some vote share back in Valley where he has lost all his credibility for past few years. Now, when it looked like that Congress men in Jammu and Kashmir are against Ganai committee report and will not allow Omar to succeed in his designs, the Chief Minister turned towards New Delhi to save his Government. It seems that all his warnings have gone in vain and he has understood that it is better for him and his Government to keep New Delhi in good humour so that he is able to complete full term in office. |
