Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 30: With the intervention of Congress high command crisis on the coalition seems to be averted for the time being but differences between two coalition partners at state level are likely to be further widen.
Credible sources in the Congress said that party would take tough stand just after completion of the Lok Sabha because it is compulsion of the party to take all coalition partners along before the much awaited Parliamentary elections.
A senior Congress leader who does not want to be quoted said that high command has asked local leadership to solve the crisis for the time being because party does not want to give wrong message to its coalition partners before the Lok Sabha polls. "Wait for Lok Sabha elections, local Congress leadership would show their teeth to National Conference", he said and disclosed that if coming Lok Sabha polls are compulsion for Congress, same would be situation for National Conference in the Assembly elections.
Credible sources said that Congress leadership has assured State leadership that after the Parliament elections free hand would be given to the State unit to settle all score with coalition partners.
Sources said that Congress leadership, while asking State leadership to avoid confronting with National Conference, has made it clear that all demands of the NC should be accepted by constituting new administrative units. Party leadership has asked local leaders to strongly take up all demands raised during the visit of Cabinet Sub Committee so that NC should not be allowed to reap political benefit of this issue.
The party high command has suggested local leadership that apart from demanding more administrative units, party should also exert all pressure on NC to extend 73rd amendment of the Indian Constitution to the State of Jammu and Kashmir. Party leadership is of the opinion that this issue is the best ammunition to take on NC politically.
Sources in the Congress further revealed that high command has assured the local leadership aspirations of the grass root level party workers would be taken into consideration in entering into alliance with NC or any other party in coming Assembly elections.
