"Powerful" police Inspector gets his transfer stopped | A sr officer first ordered his transfer, then issued another order for not relieving him | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 3: So powerful is the Inspector posted at Bakshi Nagar police station here that seniors hesitate in relieving him despite his transfer to police control room (PCR) a few days back. An ex-minister, now MLC, is alleged to be on his back. Earlier also, this politician has used his influence to get his transfers stopped. The Inspector has been managing choice postings for him and getting his transfer orders stopped or cancelled using the influence of the ex-minister despite a PHQ circular that outside interference in the police functioning and transfers will not be tolerated. The ex-minister was elected to the legislative council only a day back. The Inspector enjoys good relations with him. Police sources said though the office of IGP, Jammu, ordered the Inspector's transfer to PCR here a few days back, he did not join there. "The IGP's office later modified its order and decided that he will not be relieved," the sources added. It is pertinent to mention here that the SHOs of Janipura and Pacca Danga police stations, who were also transferred along with him, were immediately relieved. During the last assembly polls also, he had got his transfer to Rajouri-Poonch range stopped. Since then he continues to be at Bakshi Nagar police station where he was posted in July 2013. Sources alleged that his long stay at the police station was only because of his political connections and the blessings of the ex-minister. "He also has good connections with some of his seniors," the sources added. This Inspector has also served in the state vigilance organisation. |
