Jammu, Mar 8: On the eve of International Women's Day, JK Public School, Kunjwani organized a special assembly in the premises of the school on Sunday. According of press release, International Women's Day is celebrated every year to uphold the status and dignity of women and also to acknowledge their achievements. The campaign this year is 'empowering women: Empowering Humanity and Picture it, Director JK Educational Society, Brig. Sukhdev Singh said and he was the chief guest on the occasion. On the occasion, a speech on the theme 'Make it Happen' was delivered and teachers were told about the achievements of women and how they are carving a niche for themselves in the society. They were told about how women have risen to greater heights because of their grit and determination. Tributes were paid to women at large for their unquestionable importance and contribution to the society. The function was organised on the eve of International Women day by BMO Darhal Dr. Iqbal Malik . The function was attended by the large number of women, senior citizen, PRI, ASHAs and prominent persons. Speaking on this occasion, BMO Darhal Dr Iqbal Malik said that the main focus of this day is to encourage and appreciate women. The day also aims to initiate more effective actions to safeguard the rights of women in the society. Meanwhile BMO awarded three ASHA workers namely Shaheen Akhter, Naseem Akhter and Tabassum Naz for their best performance in the Block. |
