Jammu, Mar 8: A Sub Inspector turned property dealer brought defame to the Khakhi following complaints against him for duping an industrialist were lodged with a senior police officer. The SI who was posted as SHO in a police station of Samba district was attached to District Police lines , but as per police sources, the cop has now started appeasing senior police officers to get back his posting in the police station.
Sources divulged that the cop along with some property dealers of Bari Brahmna struck a deal of a piece of land in Soera in district Jammu with a renowned industrialist, who is a real brother of a Bollywood celebrity. The cop misled the industrialist claiming that he was the owner of the plot. The deal was finalized. Later, the industrialist came to know that the he was being duped and consequentially he abandoned the deal. Since the cop had already struck a deal with the original owner of the said piece of land, industrialist's refusal shocked him.
When the cop started coercing the industrialist to realize the deal, the latter lodged the complaint with the senior police officer and narrated the incident. Later, the said cop was attached to the DPL Samba.
Sources further said that it was not an isolated case of cop turning into property leader as numerous cops of all ranks, including senior officers have been using the uniform to strike land deals in Jammu and Samba districts and making huge money out of them in utter violation of norms and service rules. |
