BJP playing "Manmohan Singh" in J&K Party maintains silence over controversial issue | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 8: BJP, which earlier used to taunt former Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh while calling him as "Mouni-Baba" for maintaining silence on important issues, is playing same role in the State of Jammu and Kashmir where release of hardcore Hurriyat leader Masarat Alam has triggered a big political controversy. After first time becoming part of any government in Jammu and Kashmir, BJP leaders and ministers are more concerned about extracting facilities and luxuries from the government rather than reacting to such issues. Except Ravinder Raina, MLA from Nowshera assembly segment and Hina Bhat, who fought unsucessfully from Amira Kadal in Kashmir none of the BJP leader has openly spoken against release of Masarat Alam. Most of the BJP MLAs have maintained a guarded silence because they donot want to annoy their ministers that it why they have tight their lips on such important issues. Keeping in view the mounting pressure on common masses, state president of BJP, Jugal Kishore Sharma today gave guarded reactions but he avoided speaking any harsh word. He was selective in words because he do not want offend coalition partner. Credible sources in the BJP said that high command has asked local unit to shut their mouth on this issue because party does not want to create any controversy at this point of time. Credible sources said that during a meeting of BJP leaders which held this evening to discuss prevailing political situation after release of Masarat Alam, some Ministers faced wrath of party MLAs. They said that BJP ministers are more concerned about accumulating more and more luxuries so they are least concerned about action of their counter parts. Meanwhile there is a wave of anger among BJP workers and supporters over approach being adopted by party MLAs and ministers on recently held developments. Most of the workers are openly their anger against their party ministers and MLAs. |
