Early Times Report
Kathua, Mar 8: Union government allocates huge amount in Railways budget to provide facilities to passengers and colonies falling under the jurisdiction of different Railways Stations but practically reality differs from big claims of development formulated by Railways department. No facility has been provided to people who live along Railway lines and area failing under its jurisdiction. A 2 Km road stretch from Gobindsar Railways station to Kharote village is badly affected due to negligence of Railways department due to which 10-12 village are suffering for long but the department is paying no heed to their miseries. The matter has been highlighted several times before concerned authorities but it seems that none care about the pedestrians who frequently use the road to reach Kathua city and Gobindsar. Shashi Paul, a social activist hailing from Gobindsar, said the road is frequently got filled with rain water and with dust during dry days that affected the villagers. He said the matter has been brought into the notice of Railways officers but nothing has been done till date. He cursed Railway department and said students reach school with dirty uniform and officials hesitate to use such road. The villagers said whenever local Railways officers are approached, they kept mum and threw ball in DRM Ferozpur's court. |
