Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 8: Voicing their concern over the apathy of the state government over the issues of superannuated Government College Teachers, a meeting of retired college teachers held here today. In the meeting, it was decided to form an Association of all the retired college teachers of J&K State. This association would highlight the issues related to the retired college teaching community and vigorously take up non-payment of retirement benefits on time, inclusion of experienced teachers in Advisory capacity in the Higher Education department, representation in State Public Service Commission and other related bodies, representation in University Council and other Committees, issues related to conduct & evaluation of University examinations, etc. It was strongly resented that the vast and experienced resource of retired College Teaching community was in no way involved in framing the Higher Education policies in the State, neither by the State Govt. nor by the Universities. Among others those who supported the formation of the association are Prof Asha Sharma, Prof Rita Munshi, Prof MK Zutshi, Prof Parveen Sabharwal (all retired principals), Prof HK Kapoor, Prof SDS Jamwal, Prof AR Chaudhary and others. A working committee of retired college teachers was constituted, comprising of Dr Vijay Kumar Sharma as President (former President & General Secretary of J&K CTA), Dr Mohd Zaman Chaudhary as Vice President (retired Principal & former General Secretary J&K CTA) and Dr Satesh Bhan as General Secretary (former General Secretary J&K CTA), to pursue the issues and also frame the constitution of the Association, get it registered and initiate membership drive. College Teachers desirous of joining the Association and represent their issues for mitigation collectively may mail [email protected] (Facebook: Jammu Kashmir Rcta) or contact on mobile no: 9419194262, 9419139533 and 9419188743. |
