Early Times Report

srinagar, Mar 8: Thousands of teachers who are working under different centrally sponsored schemes like Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RAMSA) continue to suffer for want of the salaries which are pending from the last 6-8 months. In a joint statement issued here by Sr. Vice Chairman Bhupinder Singh and Vice Chairman JKReTTF Ashaq Rasool said that the assurances of the authorities from time to time that the problem will be looked into have proved to be a damp squib. The authorities are making tall claims that the grievances of the teachers working under these schemes will be addressed but nothing of such kind has happened so far. The JKReTTF has hailed Dr Haseeb Drabu being given the charge of Finance minister and Nayeem Akhter given responsibility of Education Minister of the state and exuded confidence that with their vast experience, the education department will scale all the possible heights and also the suffering of teaching staff will mitigate as early as possible.
