Jammu, Mar 8: Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) today celebrated international women's day here at KL Saigal Hall. According to press release, Multilingual Mahila Kavi sammelan in which Prof. Rita Jatindra, a renowned poetess and a social activist presided where as Dr. Raj Kumar, prominent writer, scholar, poet and critic of Hindi was the Chief Guest. Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Rita Jatindra threw light on the women empowerment in the society. She said that women section in the society is doing a tremendous job in all spheres of life. She further said that in this Mahila Kavi Goshthi budding as well as established poetesses of all languages of Jammu division were given an opportunity to recite their poetry and also to have an interaction to express their feelings about the women folk and problems thereof. Meanwhile, Dr. Raj Kumar said that all the poems recited were appreciable and successfully highlighted the issues related to the women of the present society. He further gave some important tips of writing poetry to the new entrants. He also thanked J&K Cultural Academy for celebrating International Women Day by organizing such an impressive Mahila Kavi Goshthi. Dr. Aruna Sharma, Dr. Usha Vyas, Dr. Mamta Rani, Saroj Bala, Shivani, Kiran Kanchan, Gul Aksar, Usha Kiran Kiran, Anita Mehta, Santosh Shah Nadan, Sonia Upadhaya, Khyma Koul, Surinder Neer, Uma Bakhri, Dr. Sanober, Shashi Prabha, Balvinder Kour, Amarjeet Kaur neer, Kusum and Harjinder Kaur were also present on the occasion. |
