JTC stages protest, demands composite townships for KPs in valley | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 20: A protest rally was organized by members of Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front J&K in favour of their demands. According to press release, the protesters were demanding three composite Townships near Srinagar City for permanent rehabilitation of the Kashmiri Pandit Migrant Community in these Townships with grant of political reservation both in Parliament of India as well as in J&K State Legislature. The protestors have also demanded grant of minority status to the Kashmiri Pandit Community. While addressing the protesters JTC president Shadi Lal Pandita said that each and every migrant family has been facing a loss of Rs.2.00 lacs yearly due to damages to their properties in Kashmir valley and has demanded proportionate compensation for last 25 years in favour of the Kashmiri Migrant Pandit families. "It has been said in the rally that encroachments have been made over the properties of Kashmiri Migrant Pandits in Kashmir Valley as well as properties of religious places, Temples and Shrines the protestors have demanded immediate eviction of unlawful occupation of these properties for ensuring restoration of the properties back to original owners", Pandita said. |
