BJP's media in-charge for Kashmir almost gets killed by security guard of party's distt president 5/20/2015 11:25:46 PM Jehangir Rashid Early Times Report SRINAGAR, May 20: Media in-charge of the Kashmir unit of Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) was almost killed by a police man who is posted with the party's Budgam district President, Dr. Ali Mohammad Mir. Interestingly, Mir remained a mute spectator during the whole episode while watching all the developments. Eye-witnesses told Early Times that the incident happened during the meeting of the party leaders and workers at a local hotel here in the Sonwar area. The trigger happy cop threatened Altaf of dire consequences in case he did not stop his criticism over the issue. "A meeting of the BJP leaders and workers was scheduled for today and the venue for the same was in a local hotel in the Sonwar area. As the meeting started Altaf found one of the cops attached with Dr. Mir present in the meeting. He asked the cop to move out since it was a party meeting and he had no role in it," said the eye-witnesses. The eye-witnesses said that cop lost his temper over the 'obstruction' caused by BJP's media in-charge for Kashmir with his face turning red. The cop took up his gun and pointed it on the forehead of Thakur and was about to pull his trigger so as to eliminate the media in-charge of BJP for Kashmir. "The cop had an after-thought and did not fire any bullet from his gun. Thakur got terrified and could be seen begging for his life with the policeman. The BJP leaders and workers were all wondered and there was complete silence in the meeting hall. Nobody could utter a word and there was complete silence at the meeting venue," said eye-witnesses. Following the humiliation meted out by the cop the media in-charge of BJP left the meeting in a huff but not before the cop threatened him of dire consequences in case he did not stop his utterances. Thakur was virtually chased away from the meeting by the 'trigger' happy cop with no BJP leader or worker gathering courage to counter him. What was more surprising that Dr. Mir who is always seen chatting and cracking jokes with Thakur ditched his friend and did not ask his security guard to restrict to his own limits?
