JAMMU, May 20:To ensure that the much awaited summer break is a time to relax and rejuvenate the school organizes a special summer camp for the students of class 6th to 12th. Principal Dr SS Khokhar inaugurated the camp. The summer camp faculties are going to be experts from all over the country and state who will assist and engage students in diverse skills. Modeled on the school's arts curriculum, the students will avail such experience in a wide range of activities such as sports, art and craft, dance, theater and music. The camp saw an overwhelming participation by 300 students. Hectic sports activities in basketball, football, badminton, cricket and yoga will be the regular feature in art and craft, the student will master the details of fine arts and woodwork. In theatre workshop they will be offered training in Hindi and English dramatics. Training in vocal and instrumental music will form a part of music workshop whereas in dance classes, the students will learn the intricacies of Indian Classical Dance. The expert of the day was renowned painter of the state K K Gandhi. He demonstrated different techniques of landscape making and drawing to budding artists. Addressing the audience, Dr Khokhar said, "BSF School has always provided a welcoming and engaging summer camp for its students. The purpose is to engage the students in various fruitful activities during the vacations for their educational and cultural development." |
