Jammu, June 10: The activists of National Panthers Student Union today burnt the effigy of Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh alleging that he did a ''double-speak'' on the establishment of AIIMS in Jammu. NPSU activists this morning gathered outside University of Jammu amid anti-government slogans and later burnt the effigy of Dr Nirmal Singh. The ongoing ''double speak'' of Deputy CM regarding the establishment of AIIMS is disastrous for the entire region,'' Virender Singh, State President NPSU here said. He asserted that on one hand he endorsed that AIIMS should be established in Kashmir, but after viewing a lot of public outrage and resentment by BJP leaders in the form of complete 'Jammu bandh', the Deputy CM is making statements just to befool people claiming that AIIMS will be established at Jammu soon. The Student leader lambasted that it shows hypocrisy and double standard of 'spineless' BJP leadership. ''BJP leadership after getting massive mandate from the Jammu region had totally surrender all their agendas and programmes to remain in power,'' he added. |
