Early Times report
JAMMU, June 10: Pakistani agent Syed Ali Shah Geelani is not satisfied with what he did after April 15 to muddy the Indian waters in Kashmir and promote the anti-India cause of Islamabad in the Valley. During this period, he crossed all redlines and created a situation that led to the criticism of the coalition government across the country. The reasons were obvious.
Now, Geelani has decided to hold an anti-India seminar in Srinagar on June 14. The seminar titled "How to Resist the Indian State Fascism". Those who will take part in the scheduled seminar would include Akali Dal leader Simranjit Singh Mann, Dal Khalsa leader Kanwarpal Singh, pro-separatist Gautam Navlakha, so-called representatives of the Christian community, separatist ideologues, separatist intellectuals, separatist writers and separatist leaders of the Kashmir Valley. "It will be the important seminar of its kind called by the Hurriyat Conference in which the prominent scholars, intellectuals, writers and pro-freedom leaders of the Kashmir Valley would also participate", said a spokesman of Geelani in Srinagar.
The said spokesman also issued a handout on behalf of Geelani. Quoting Geelani, it said: "Terming the communal and fascist agendas of the new Indian government as deadly, Chairman All Parties Hurriyat Conference Syed Ali Geelani cautioned that if this nuisance is not collectively countered, besides Kashmiris, the existence and the identity of all the minorities of India will be in acute danger and their future will be very bleak. He said that the communal forces of India want to saffronize this entire region and want to implement their fanatic Hindutva policies here. And for this purpose they are using their state power and are breaching all the moral and cultural boundaries". "Geelani said in his statement that besides in Kashmir, a public awareness campaign should be run in the whole of India to counter the dangerous and wicked agendas of the RSS and its allied parties so that the minorities can raise up to protect their existence, their identity and their religion," the handout further said. According to the handout, Geelani also paid "tributes" to Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale and his militant colleagues who were killed in "Operation Blue Star" at Golden Temple on June 6, 1984.
The report that Geelani would organize anti-India seminar in Srinagar has become talk of the town with all expressing grave concern over the manner in which Geelani has been advancing the Pakistani agenda in Kashmir. The nationalist media has also taken up the issue in a big way and urged both the Modi government at the centre and Mufti Mohammad Sayeed-led coalition government in Jammu & Kashmir to scuttle the Geelani's anti-India move. It is hoped that the coalition government would act tough and not allow the proposed anti-India event to take place in Srinagar. It will be in the interest of state government if it defeated the Geelani's anti-India sinister move.
