Welfare of martyrs’ families priority of JKP: Rajendra | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, June 10: The Director General of Police (DGP), K. Rajendra Kumar, today sanctioned scholarships over Rs.1.10 lakh in favour of 17 children of police martyrs, who laid down their lives for bringing peace in the state and protected public property and human lives. The scholarships have been sanctioned in favour wards under studies in different classes for the academic year 2014-2015. These scholarships were announced after a meeting of Executive Body of Police Parivar Fund, which was held at Police Headquarters (PHQ) here today under the chairmanship of Director General of Police. Kumar further said that Jammu and Kashmir Police has been fighting the menace of terrorism for over two decades now in which large number of our brave jawans and officers laid down their precious lives. "It was due to their supreme sacrifices that the security situation in the State has evolved positively and the sufferings of people on account of violence unleashed by the terrorists have come down", said Rajendra. Rajendra stressed upon the wards to get modern education and perform excellent in different competitions. He said that the Jammu and Kashmir Police Organization is providing assistance to the wards to boost their morale so that they could continue their studies and excel in varied competitive examinations. He said that in the modern age responsibilities of parents have doubled and they have to pay proper attention towards their wards from the very initial stage. DGP also advised that the parents have to make their wards able to face the challenges in the modern times and make their future bright. He said that quality education has assumed more importance in the present days and every child has to perform better and shape his future. |
