Squall effect: Power supply wire looms down cause delays train in Jammu | | | Early Times Report Jammu, June 10: The rains though brings some respite to people from scorching heat but an overhead power supply wire got damaged and loomed down leaving passengers in Jammu high and dry as train traffic remained affected on stretch of Vijayupur and Baribrahamana here today. According to sources, the train commuters faced an inordinate delay this evening because of damage to overhead wires here between the stretch of Vijayupur and Baribrahamana which damage was caused by the high speed winds followed by rains. As per reports, train traffic reportedly between Jammu and Pathankot railway tracks remained affected for at least for four hours causing great inconvenience to the train passengers. Reports said owing to the overhead wire damage, the trains including Pooja Express and others did not get green signals from Jammu to onwards journey due to this technical snag. "The other trains which were expected earlier to arrive Jammu Railway Station on time also got affected, reports said. Pooja Express which was earlier on right time i.e. 6:15 pm left towards its journey to Rajasthan after 8 pm. It was after railway authorities' hectic efforts, the damage was rectified and the trains were given green signal for their onward journey. |
