| Youth jumps into Chenab, rescued | | |

Jammu, June 10: A youth made an abortive bid to end his life by jumping into the river Chenab here today, however, the timely action from the police team got him rescued.
The youth has been identified namely as Ajay Kumar (21) s/o Prab Dyal of Kanachak, Jammu, police sources said.
A senior police officer when contacted said, "The youth identified as Ajay Kumar jumpd into the river Chenab from the bridge as the incident took place near the naka point, the cops immediately recated and dived into the river and rescued him." He was initially shifted to nearby hospital from where he was referred to the Govt Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) Jammu where his treatment was in progress.
Police sources said why the youth has undertaken this extreme step yet has not been ascertained as the youth was under medicare. |
