Cop allegedly takes Rs 1 lakh for letting couple free held in Car Senior police officer terms incident a well knit plot by cop 6/16/2015 12:06:21 AM Early Times Report JAMMU, June 15: In a rebuff to the Khaki, a Sub Inspector who happens to be the in-charge of a police post in city allegedly took one lakh rupees to let the couple free, held in compromising position in a car. The incident took place in the late hours of Saturday, when a boy and a girl were held with the obscene gesture by a police team. Duo was taken into the police post where a Sub Inspector rank person allegedly took Rs one lakh from the parents of the girl and boy. Earlier, it is also alleged, the cop in question took the I-phone of the boy with him and it was after the exchanging of amount, the matter was over looked. In a similar incident that took place during the intervening night of June 11 and 12, a Maruti Car bearing registration number JK02R/8863, parked in Donthli Bazar, was stolen. The CCTV footage revealed that two motor-cycle borne youth appeared near the car one of them opened the window of the car with the master key and fled with it. The same car was later recovered in the same vicinity with no tyre and other spare parts. In yet another incident, two motor-cycle borne youth snatched the purse from lady containing Rs 3,000 and fled from the spot. The very incident took place near Lawrence School in city. Meanwhile, a senior police officer when contacted said that he had carried out an inquiry in this connection but nothing substantial has been found. He said the SI in question, had been on leave. Smelling foul, he said that the said cop was engaged in the verbal brawl with the senior police officer and he had suspicion that the said police officer was behind in the cock and bull story.
