Early Times Report
Kishtwar, June 15 : The people and students of Kuntwara area of Kishtwar District today rued the attachment of three of its teachers posted at High School Nagbatna at Kishtwar city schools since last several years and demanded immediate detachment of attached teachers, besides posting of staff against all the vacant posts of the school. As per the details available with Early Times, High School Nagbatna was upgraded from Middle School to High School in the year 1985, but even after 30 years the successive governments in Jammu and Kashmir fail to provide infrastructure and staff to this High School located in one of the remotest area of the state having no road connectivity even after 68 years of independence. The school has 21 sanctioned staff strength and against sanctioned 21 posts, only seven posts has been filled up by the education department which include two teachers namely Ejaz-ul-Haq (Teacher I/C Headmaster) and Sanjeet Kumar (Teacher), two ReT's Sayeeda Begum (Teacher SSA) and Rozy Akther (ReT), Junior Assistant Wahid Hussain, Peon Samina Begum and Saffai Karamchari Roshni Devi while three influential teachers/Master namely Kewal Krishan (Master) attached at High School Sangrabata, Satya Bushan (Teacher) attached at Higher Secondary School Girls Kishtwar and Pardeep Koul (Master) attached at Government Higher Secondary School Boys Kishtwar are still attached in Kishtwar city schools as education department fails to implement several detachment orders issued by the government from time to time. While talking to "Early Times", the locals said that the school building accommodate 160 students from 1st to 10th class in only three useable rooms out of six and said that government fails to take any initiative for up-gradation of school infrastructure, added that it is very difficult to accommodate 160 students in three class rooms. They said that though education department last month posted two newly selected teachers namely Rajan Kumar of Matta Kishtwar and Lav Kumar of Shakti Nagar Kishtwar, but both the teachers with the help of political masters manage to modify the order as a result of which HS Nagbatna was denied its share out of newly appointed teachers. They said that despite repeated request to successive Chief Education Officers posted from time to time at Kishtwar and various director school educations Jammu, all the detached teachers and masters continue to enjoy their posting at Kishtwar thus putting the poor students at lurch at the mercy of the god. They said that education department shows helplessness in detaching the politically influential teachers and masters not only attached from HS Nagbatna, but also attached from many other rural areas of the District and demanded that CEO Kishtwar must issued immediate detachment order of all the attached teachers and masters with the direction to them to report at original place of posting. It is pertinent to mention that Nagbatna is part of Kuntwara Kishtwar which is located only 30 kilometer from District Headquarter, but even after 68 years of independence the area is without road connectivity and it took 6 to 8 hour uphill foot journey to reach the school and hardly any senior officer from District administration or education department visit the area or the school as a result of which the area remain isolated not only on education front, but also on developmental front as well. |
