BJP perpetrates one more injustice on Jammu
15,000 jobs for Kashmiri youth

Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 15: The BJP, which got a huge mandate from Jammu both in the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in 2014 by raising pro-Jammu and nationalist slogans, has perpetrated one more injustice on the already grossly discriminated against people of this region. It has turned out to be rabidly anti-Jammu and left behind the Congress party in its desperate bid to pamper Kashmir by cheating its own constituency in Jammu province. And it displayed its naked bias in favour of the prosperous, highly powerful and over-developed Kashmir at a time when the people of Jammu province were already agitating under the banner of the AIIMS Coordination Committee Jammu (ACCJ), which is headed by the Jammu & Kashmir High Court Bar Association (JKHCBA), Jammu, president Abhinav Sharma.
The ACCJ, a conglomeration of over 80 non-political organizations, has been since May 21 spearheading movement for the establishment of AIIMS in Jammu as well as completion of Artificial Lake Project over River Tawi in Jammu. It has organized a massive bandh on May 27 and a very-largely participated candle light protest march in Jammu on June 5. It has also started chain hunger strike, which entered fourth day today. The hunger strike was launched to force the authorities in Srinagar and Delhi to concede the two popular demands: Establishment of AIIMS and completion of the Lake Project. The BJP is watching the activities of the ACCJ from a distance as a mute spectator. In fact, it has been issuing contradictory and misleading statements to weaken the Jammu movement.
That the BJP and the BJP-led NDA Government at the Centre have turned extremely hostile towards Jammu and that they are perpetrating injustice after injustice on its people could be seen from the recent decision of the Union Government to launch a mega recruitment drive in the Valley. According to a report, the "Centre has, under a mega recruitment plan, sanctioned 15,000 jobs for the youth in the strife-torn Kashmir belt of Jammu & Kashmir" and the aim of the Central Government is to "connect to the unemployed youngsters in the Valley". "The jobs will be provided in 15 new battalions of the Army, paramilitary and India Reserve Battalions - five each - over the next few weeks. The Union Cabinet has approved the scheme. More than 15,000 youth will get jobs in one go, thus making it the biggest recruitment drive in the state in recent years," the report has further said. The said report clearly said that all these jobs would be for the Valley youth or the mega recruitment plan of the Central Government is meant exclusively for the Valley youth.
The BJP is digging its own grave not only in Jammu but also across the nation by pursuing a policy that is not just anti-Jammu but also against those in the state who have been fighting for the national cause in the state. It is a matter of regret that the BJP is punishing those who brought it into power in Jammu & Kashmir. It has scores of spokespersons and scores of other office-bearers, but no one has the courage to take on its high command that has sold out Jammu and Ladakh and national interest just for the sake of five worthless berths in the state cabinet. On the contrary, all of them are trying to weaken the ongoing movement in Jammu. It's no wonder that the BJP has virtually become untouchable in this region.
