PTU Secretary laments pitiable condition of Government schools | | | Early Times Report Jammu, June 15: Lashing out heavily at the lackadaisical approach of District Doda administration in dealing with the civic amenities pertaining to education and hygiene, PTU Secretary, Parshotam Singh Parihar revealed the miseries of the local people in Block Assar. Parihar said that the Government higher secondary school in Block Assar Tehsil and District Doda besides Government Middle Schools in village Jatar, Hallian, Dragari etc are facing acute shortage of teaching and non teaching staff for the last several months which is badly affecting the academic session of the local students. The anger and outrage of the students had forced them to launch a protest against the administration few days ago but all went in vain. Moreover, the condition of the school buildings are quite shabby. It is pertinent to mention here that the middle schools are run by two to four teachers for the entire session. He exhorted the district administration to provide adequate staff in the schools and immediate repair work for the dilapidated school buildings. Parihar also highlighted the poor and fake implementation of 'Swasth Bharat Abhiyan' under which only 10% of the sanction toilets have been constructed so far in Block Assar. He demanded immediate probe into the matter so that the reality about the rest 90% of the work is brought before the public. He also urged the district administration to pull and take stern action against the officials engaged in the project who have grossly failed to implement the work in the interest of the people. |
