Make national anthem compulsory in educational institutions in J&K: ABVP | | | Early Times Report
Kishtwar, June 15: BJP's student wing Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Pareshad (ABVP), district unit Kishtwar, has demanded making the national anthem compulsory in all educational institutions of the state and threatened a mass agitation if the demand is not met with. The demand was made after a meeting at Bhartiya Vidya Mandir Kishtwar on Sunday under the chairmanship of district president Kuljeet Shan. The meeting was also attended by units of Polytechnic College Kishtwar, Higher Secondary, and others. During the meeting it was unanimously decided that a delegation of ABVP Kishtwar along with heads of various schools will meet Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar and will demand making the national anthem compulsory in all government and private educational institutions of Kishtwar with immediate effect. "In case the district administration fails to introduce the national anthem in educational institutions, ABVP Kishtwar will launch a massive agitation from June 22," an ABVP spokesman told Early Times. The organization also decided to raise the issues of student community at various forums for their early and speedy redressal, he said. |
