Early Times Report Udhmapur, June 15: CII J&K State Council presented a Representation on Development of Udhampur to Dr Nirmal Singh, Deputy Chief Minister, J&K. According to press release, C P Gupta, Chairman, said that Udhampur is on the National Highway and the commuting station for the tourists. "Since the National Highway has been broadened and road traffic has increased heavily, which is continuously rising day by day resulting in regular traffic jams. To avoid such situations and smooth flow of traffic, it is recommended that the Udhampur city shall have the Warehousing Facility as also Transport Nagar with shops to perform the regular business activities", he demanded, adding that the vehicle repair workshops could move to this area. He further said that due to this the vehicles parked for repair purpose alongside the National Highway will go to that area for repair. "Since the entry for heavy vehicles is not allowed during the day, vehicles wait outside the city on the National Highway. The transport nagar with shops for business activities will help them park as also load / unload the trucks there only", he added. |
