JAMMU, June 15 : Benia Min of J&K Police clinched the 109th annual Saya Jagti Kesari dangla title outplaying Rimple of Amritsar, Patha Padarth Pahelwan in the main bout that lasted for 28 minutes at Saya Jagti near Nagrota, here. Dangal, wherein 54 bouts were decided, held under the overall supervision of president J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma and chairman Peer Baba Saya Jagti Dangal Committee Abdul Rashid Malik. Dr. Mohd Salim was the chief guest ,who gave away cash prizes to the winner and runner-up wrestlers while Shiv Kumar Sharma presided. The SP, Mushim Ahmad, SDPO Nagrota, Bharat Bhushan Sharma, NC leader, Muner Hussian Bazda, Som Raj Khajuria and Sarpanch Rehmat Ali were guests of honour. Mangal Singh and Sarpanch Thoryu Ram were among other prominent present. Winner of the main bout awarded with a cash prize of Rs. 24,000 while runners-up Rimple got Rs 17,000 prize money. The second main bout was between Kaka of RS Pura and Paula of HP ended in a draw with both wrestlers shared Rs. 21,000. Raj Kumar of Delhi defeated Lallu of Bajrangi Akhara Jammu to win the third bout while fourth main bout went to Akram of Bajrangi Akhara Jammu who defeated Muskeen Ali of Ramnagar. Technical officials who helped in the conduct of event included Mohd. Fareed, Murli Dhar (Munna), Raj Singh, Manjoor Ahmed, Ram Paul Sharma, Ravinder Kumar, Bittu Raina and Madan Lal. |
