HDFC Bank expansion continues, branch at Awantipora inaugurated | | | Early Times Report awantipora, June 15: Continuing its expansion, HDFC Bank announced the launch of its 73rd branch in Jammu & Kashmir at Awantipora in the Pulwama District. It is the 5th branch in the District, a spokesman of the bank said in a statement issued here today. The new rural branch, located 30 kilometers from Srinagar, will offer the full range of world-class banking solutions to meet the needs of the local population. The branch was inaugurated by Mohammad Ashraf Mir, Minister of State for Industries and Commerce, Power Development and Housing & Urban Development in the presence of Zubair Iqbal, Senior Vice President, HDFC Bank &Cluster Heads, Iftikhar Ahmed, Showket Nahvi, Aatif Andrabi and other senior officers of the Bank and prominent local dignitaries. The Minister while speaking on the occasion appreciated the growth, employment generation and expansion plans of the bank and bringing world class services to the door steps of the people of Awantipora. Minister expressed hope that bank will open more branches in the district and contribute to economic upliftment of the people. Speaking about the new branch from Mumbai, Ravi Narayanan, Branch Banking Head, HDFC Bank, said: "The Bank's growing network is a reflection of our commitment to take formal banking to a significantly larger number of families and businesses in Jammu & Kashmir. Our objective is to empower more people in the state by offering them our full range of banking services including digital initiatives, even in rural areas, thus making a difference in their lives."
