Jammu, July 8: Rotarian Raizada Sanjeev Vaid today took over as President Rotary Club Jammu City.
An installation ceremony was today held at Jammu Club, wherein Speaker J & K Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta was the chief guest and Rotary Governor 2016-2017 was the installing officer. Out Going President Rtn. Gurdev Singh Sodhi in his speech highlighted the club's performance in the year 2014-2015.
He said an irrigation project at the cost of Rs.23 lakh has been completed at Khojipora, Bishnah under women empowerment project whereby more than 800 Kanals of land will be irrigated. and farmers will now be able to grow crops round the year which will enhance their economy to four fold. This project has been handed over to the villagers.
Another project under the scheme of providing clean drinking water costing Rs 8 Lakh has also been completed by way of providing deep bore tube wells at Samba, Bari Brahmna, Bishnah, Jammu, Rajouri having been commissioned and handed over to the Public. A bore well tube well was specially commissioned at Samba for Amarnath Pilgrims and has been handed over to Tourism Department. |
