Early Times Report Jammu, July 8: Off and on humiliated by at least two ministers of Kashmir, a senior police officer, who heads a state police wing, is thinking of taking premature retirement. These ministers want their favourite officer to replace him. Everything was going normal for this this police till a few months back but things started worsening for him after the durbar move. The two ministers would call him up any time, asking him to remain present on the road to clear their cavalcades despite the fact that it is not his duty. "On some occasions, he was invited to public functions by the ministers but not provided a chair to sit," police sources said. "This is unfair on their part to insult a senior officer. They are harassing him so that he opts for some other wing and their favourite officer gets posted in his place," the sources added. Though he had made up his mind to seek premature retirement, his seniors had asked him not to take a decision in haste. "They have assured him to find a way out," sources said. The senior police officer has also remained DIG of a range in Kashmir and headed some districts as their SSP. He was also said to have taken up the matter with the state police chief. |
