Kishtwar teacher's victimization: CJM asks police to register FIR | | | Asif Iqbal Naik
Kishtwar July 8: Five days after a poorly drafted application attributed to a 28-year-old teacher from Kishtwar appeared on Facebook, Chief Judicial Magistrate Kishtwar today directed the police to register an FIR in the matter. The teacher, Muddassar Akbar Sheikh, of Kungwari village today approached the court of CJM Kishtwar through his counsel Advocate Kuldeep Sharma and sought registration of an FIR under the IT Act 2000 against the unknown person(s) involved in circulating the fake and forged application on social media. Sheikh pleaded that the incident has defamed him and tarnished his reputation among the general public. After hearing arguments put forth by Sheikh's counsel, CJM Kishtwar directed the station house officer of Kishtwar police station to register an FIR against the culprits under relevant section of law. Sheikh, who was recently selected by Service Selection Board as general line teacher, faced embarrassment after some mischievous elements circulated a poorly drafted application attributed to him for adjustment against vacant post of Botany subject at Higher Secondary School Kishtwar. Sheikh told Early Times that the incident has shocked him. He holds M.Phil in Economics from Barkatullah University and not in Botany subject as mentioned in the application, besides B.Ed from Jammu University. Sheikh said even as it has been established that some mischievous elements played a prank with him, he is continuously facing harassment as many people look at him with suspicion. "The matter has come into the notice of Education Minister who asked Director School Education Jammu to look into the matter. Later at the instance of Director Education, CEO Kishtwar put me at scrutiny test which I passed successfully," said Sheikh. He said that CEO Kishtwar "found me fit for the teacher job and also wrote a detailed report to Director Education Jammu." "CEO Kishtwar also found that the handwriting on the fake application was not mine," he said. "I can't imagine that anyone could do this to me. I am deeply disheartened and shocked and hope that police will act against the person(s) involved in this odious act," Sheikh said. |
