NSF stages protest against Govt for encouraging separatists | Waving of Pak, ISIS Flags in Kashmir valley | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 18: Taking strong exception to the waving flags of Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS), Pakistan, during a rally in old city afterFriday prayers, organized yesterday in Srinagar, National Secular Forum (NSF) in a protest demonstration held at Jammu University today has flayed the coalition govt for being soft on anti-national elements after forming the government in the State. Scores of the activists of National Secular Forum led by its Province General Secretary Narinder Singh raised slogans against Pakistan as well as BJP which is a partner of government in the state and at the helm in New Delhi. He said some masked youth were seen carrying the flags of ISIS, during a protest after Friday prayers in Jamia Masjid area. Lashing out at the state Government at the State and the Central Government for "encouraging separatists" by releasing Masrat Alam, Singh alleged that from day one after taking charge as Chief Minister of the State Mufti Mohd Sayeed was carrying forward the agenda of separatists in the State but ironically the BJP which claimed to be the party of Nationalists has abandoned it after coming to power. Accusing BJP of giving a free hand to separatists to organize anti-India rallies, he said that the Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister must explain as to what was BJP's policy on Jammu and Kashmir. Demanding immediate and stringent actions against separatists who waved Pak, ISIS flags, Singh said,"BJP by mollycoddling them will be sacrificing its core national interest and demoralizing the security forces. It is time BJP comes clean on its Jammu and Kashmir policy and let the nation know where it stands. Mere repeat of platitude -don't need lessons from anybody- will no longer work", he added. He termed BJP of being politically impotent to handle state of affairs by giving a free hand to separatist outfits in the valley. He also asked Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed to clear his stand as he has been very keen to promote the brand 'Kashmir' by projecting it a dream destination for tourists at Metro cities for quite some time but on the other hand he has failed to tackle anti-national activities in the valley so as to maintain suitable atmosphere for tourists. |
