Govt teacher among 7 held for raising anti-India, pro-Pak slogans during Eid at Kishtwar

KISHTWAR, July 18: While Kishtwar police today arrested seven persons, including a government school teacher, for allegedly raising anti India and pro Pakistan slogans after Eid prayers, massive manhunt was launched to arrest the other accused.
As per the details available with Early Times, Kishtwar police on the basis of video evidence registered an FIR No 119 under section 120 B and charges of sedition against several persons for allegedly raising anti India and Pro Pakistan slogans during traditional post Eid Nimaz procession and arrested seven persons.
The arrested persons were identified by senior police officers as 45 year old Abdul Gani son of Ghulam Ali Bhat of Pathgham Marwah (at present near Shiv Mandir Kishtwar), who is working as teacher in education department, Imran Butt son of Mohammad Amin Butt of Nagni Hidyal Kishtwar, Bilal Ahmed Butt son of Abdul Rashid Butt of Saroori Mohallah Kishtwar, Sajid Hussain son of Ghulam Hussain Sheikh of Marwah, Raj Mohammad son of Mohammad Yaqoob of Phugumar Hasti Kishtwar, Mudasir Ahmed son of Javed Ahmed Ganie of Trigam Kishtwar and Aqib Rasool son of Ghulam Haider of Teller Marwah, all in the age group of 21 to 24 years.
While divulging the details, senior police officer confirmed the arrest of seven persons and added that an Education Department employee namely Abdul Gani was the first person who instigated the anti-India rant followed by the other youths. He said that several other persons had also been identified and police has launched a manhunt to arrest them. He said that Abdul Gani was also involved in similar cases earlier, but was evading arrest. He said that all such people involved in anti national and anti social activities will be dealt with iron hands.
Earlier Eid was celebrated in Kishtwar with religious fervor and more than 18000 people arrived at Eidgah Kishtwar from different parts of Kishtwar District offered Eid Nimaz at historic chowghan ground. People and children were seen greeting and hugging each other on the auspicious occasion of the Eid ul Fitar. Elaborate security arrangements were made by the police personally supervised by Deputy Inspector General of Police Doda-Kishtwar-Ramban range along with Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Mohammad Javed Khan, SP Kishtwar Yougal Manhas and ASP Kishtwar Abdul Qayoom.
