Banihal, July 18: Coming true to spirits of the Eid festivity to respect -the humanity, the locals from Banihal today set a new example of brotherhood and communal harmony on the auspicious occasion of holy EId by extending a helping hand to a family of Shri Amarnath pilgrims from Maharashtra which was looted at Phalagam -Kashmir.
As per locals reports, the incident marking a respect and humanity in Banihal virtually has stole the show when some miscreants were raising anti India slogans in Kishtwar.
Reports said that 6- member family hailing from Maharashtra on their way to Shri Amaranth Cave Shrine was looted at Pahalgam Kashmir before reaching the Amaranth cave. "The theft not only has given an odd experience but also deprived them from to go ahead to pay obeisance to their deity and thus decided to return back," said one of the family members.
During their stay at Banihal the family head Gangnandan Patil while talking to 'Early Times' said that they have lost a bag with Rs 22000, registration card and some other valuable items near Pahalgam when they were on way to Amarnath shrine. He lamented that due to the loss of their registration cards and above all being penniless they decided to come back from half way.
"Although they have lodged complaint with police at Pahalgam for the lost of bag but all in vain, he said. "The group comprising two males, two females and two children somehow managed to reach up to Banihal by train, and sought some help from local to reach to home, reports said.
After listening their problem the People of Banihal pass some locals informed to Imam of Central Jaima Masjid Banihal Molana Nazir Ahmed who during the Eid prayers in his speech appealed the people for the help of these looted Amaranth pilgrims.
And to the surprise of distressed family, the devotees assembled for the Eid prayers coming true to the spirits of Eid festivity, come forward generously to help the anguished yatries and contributed for their fare to reach to their home. Meanwhile the family of Amarnath pilgrims has expressed their gratitude to the people of Banihal for showing their generosity and becoming true ambassador of communal harmony on the holy Eid occasion.
Pertinent to mention here that the thousands of people have assembled to offer Eid prayers in Banihal and offered their prayers with traditional religious fervor and enthusiasm here today
