| BJP mantris ask aides to prepare 'achievement list' | | |

Srinagar, July 18: Amid pressure from the BJP high command to "perform or perish" the BJP ministers in Jammu and Kashmir are on tenterhooks and they have asked their close aides in the administration to prepare their achievement list and give it wide publicity, sources told Early Times.
They said the BJP high command has taken a serious note of the "underperformance" of the BJP ministers and has asked them to come up with their report card. "The BJP ministers had to cut a sorry figure at a recent meeting of the BJP leaders which was chaired by the party president Amit Shah in New Delhi on July 12," sources said.
They said failure of the BJP ministers to apprise the high command about their report cards and their achievements disappointed the party president. "He (Shah) kept the meeting confined to the party's Mahasampark program and didn't mention a word about the performance of the BJP ministers in the JK government," the source added.
He said that BJP ministers had to face the embarrassment when the BJP chief Amit Shah reprimanded them for claiming that "they (ministers) are still learning the tricks of the trade."
"Three months is a long time and you are still trying to learn what is happening around you. It's not acceptable," sources quoted one of the senior BJP leader as having said.
He said after getting the initial feedback from the ministers, the BJP president and other leaders decided that they would not discuss any issue about the performance of the BJP ministers in the PDP-BJP government in Jammu and Kashmir.
Sources said that another issue which the BJP high command discussed with the ministers was that why they were acting as "second fiddles" in the coalition despite PDP and BJP having equal number of seats. "You need not worry about the Agenda of Alliance between the BJP and PDP. You people please do your work and don't give excuses which have no ground," the BJP leaders are understood to have told the ministers.
Sources said that after facing the embarrassment and getting reprimanded by the party high command, the BJP ministers have directed their close aides to prepare achievement list to highlight what they have done during the past 3-months and get it highlighted in media. "The close aides of BJP ministers are working overtime to appease their bosses and are busy in preparing the so-called list," the source added. |
