Poor Connectivity: Locals to submit memorandum to DDC 7/19/2015 12:00:56 AM Udhampur, July 18: Inhabitants from Meya Bag Kashra and Siayaal Sallan panchyats in Udhampur district today demonstrated against PWD and PHE Department Udhampur for failing to provide basic services to the people of the area and decided to submitted memorandum to Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary in this regard. Led by Rampaul and Vikas Sharma respective sarpanches of panchayats, the people staged protest against PWD and PHE departments alleging that the conditions of link road Meya Bagh to Chari Salayan is depleted for the past seven years. Addressing the protestors Rampaul and Vikas Sharma said that seven year ago contractor started the work on this stretch and laid the basic stone covering and left the work. When locals contacted the department, the concerned authorities briefly said that they will get road black tooped after some time but the thing remained same till date. Meanwhile some vested interested elements have started charging fare from locals who don't take their vehicles to their home and park the same on open roads. Within poor road connectivity, the erratic water supply is too affecting life of people in these two panchyats, protestors alleged that PHE tankers from the tube well supply water only to some areas viz. Nagrota, Rathian and other adjoining places.Locals said that they will call on DDC Udhampur and submit charter of demands to for due action.Meanwhile XEn PWD Udhampur Rajesh Gupta briefly said that he yet had no such information in this regard and assured that he along with PWD team will visit the spot to take stock of situation.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
