Administration appreciated for smooth Eid arrangements in Bhaderwah | | | Early Times Report
BHADERWAH, July 18: The festival of Eid-ul-Fitr was celebrated with joy and religious fervour across Bhaderwah and other parts of the Chenab Valley on Saturday. Thousands of Muslims came out in various parts of the Bhaderwah early morning dressed in their finery to offer the special Eid congregational prayers. The largest congregation was held at the Central Eidgah, Bhaderwah where about 5000 people participated in prayers. Special prayers were offered for the well-being of the community while in sermons the speakers highlighted the significance of Eid-ul-Fitr. President Anjuman Islamia Bhaderwah, Khairat Hussain Frash threw light on the importance of the day and presented the annual report of the Anjuman and urged upon the government to disband the VDCs now as militancy is nowhere in Chenab valley as in some areas they are misusing their powers. Frash also greeted the people of the Bhaderwah on Eid-Ul-Fitr on the occasion. He also appreciated the steps taken by local administration of Bhaderwah for peaceful conduct of the Eid festival . On the occasion Islamic flag hoisting was also held like previous year. After the solemn prayers, people joyfully greeted each other with hugs and "Eid mubarak" in Eid gahs , mosques, homes and public places. Similar peaceful Eid celebrations were witnessed in important Muslim pockets of Sartingal , Amira nagar , Chinta , Bhalla , Seri , Pranoo and other parts of Bhaderwah. The festival marked the culmination of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan during which Muslims observe a stringent dawn-to-dusk fast in which even water is not permitted. After offering the Eid 'namaaz', it was time for the celebrations with family, friends, neighbors and community people, savouring and serving each other the festival special dish. It is notable to mention here that for Eid prayers security was on high alert in the whole Bhaderwah town from yesterday as the security arrangements were monitored by ASP Bhaderwah Amit Bhasin and SHO Bhaderwah was also seen patrolling the whole streets and main link roads . |
