Rules being tailored in Sports Department to adjust blue eyed | | Yajin Bhatt | 7/19/2015 12:05:30 AM |
| Shivnandan Recently Early Times have highlighted the grievous issue of one 'blue-eyed' junior most college teacher for having been chosen and planted as Deputy Director Jammu by the erstwhile DG Sports ignoring and keeping at bay all the considerations and set government norms as per his personal sweet will. Plainly speaking, this fearless daily, has given voice to the anguish and the grievances of the people working in the department which no one could ever have dared. By doing so, your esteemed Daily has taken lead of bringing one of the many grievous ills to light the department was made to bear during his black tenure. Early Times is, in fact, a fast upcoming indispensable newspaper and is becoming very popular one. Being an ex-Officer of the department and having served well over three and a half decade, I appreciate your move of echoing the wrong-doings in the department. I would like to add that the field-staff had to wage a long struggle for attaining the reorganization of the department. The norms for regulating the department came into being in 2013 but the practice of favoritism and nepotism continues till recent as exemplified in this glaring issue of aiding and abetting this mala fide practice under reference above. The Government Order No.73-Edu (Tech) of 2015 Dated: 30.06.2015 recalling the said college teacher is awaiting implementation at the mercy of the teacher under reference who is still continuing as Deputy Director Jammu even after the lapse of over fifteen days. Does it not sound pathetic and astounding that the person daring non-compliance and shamelessly clinging onto the lucrative position which he has somehow managed to acquire with the crafty blessings of the then Head of the Department and thus is finding it tough to part with! This does not need any explanation but speaks great volumes of its own. Besides this, another college teacher who was also planted in the Central Office of the department is still being allowed to continue. No one should ever have the liberty to play with the system gratifying his/her whims and fancies. No one is above law and let the rule of law be made to prevail upon all the decisions and deliberations regarding appointments or promotions in the department in the interest of the department. Another important point I would like to stress upon is that the post of Deputy Directors may be filled up through promotion of the district officers as per their order of seniority in the cadre as envisaged in the government norms. It is beyond comprehension why these college teachers have become disinterested in their original job at Government College of Physical Education, Ganderbal but are doing their utmost to cling on illegally to their manipulated present positions. The students in the Government College of Physical Education are made to suffer for no fault of theirs owing to these teachers' willful absence from the college. How can this injustice be justified? This wrong needs to be rectified at the earliest as promised and expected of the new leadership so as to restore faith and confidence. The people of J&K have great appreciation for Chief Minster's historic move of cleaning the administration of corrupt and deadwood elements. Our worthy CM, himself, has been a great admirer and supporter of the importance of games and sports in the school curriculum.A lot more is expected under the most dynamic and energetic leadership of our new Sports Minister and his new team for bringing the derailed system onto the right track by creating congenial and sporting environment within and in between the Departments of Education and Physical Education (DYSS) for getting the fruitful outcomes in the ultimate interest of the students. People are looking forward to this new leadership with great hope and aspirations. Author is retired DYSSO can be contacted: [email protected] |
