NSD's 20 day workshop on Design and Techniques concludes

JAMMU, July 18 : A 20 day long Theatre workshop on topic 'Design and Techniques' organized by National School of Drama (NSD), New Delhi in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art ,Culture and Languages (JKAACL) concluded today at Abhinav Theatre, Jammu.
Ms Anjali Sharma, Director Doodarshan, Jammu was the chief guest, N D Jamwal was special guest and Dr Lalit Magotra, well known litterateur of Dogri presided over the occasion while M K Raina, Bapi Bose and Dr Arvinder Singh Amn Additional Secretary of the Academy also shared the presidium.
At the onset of concluding occasion, Dr Lalit Magotra, Ms Anjali Sharma and N D Jamwal accompanied with other guests took a round of the foyer where the creative work/objects prepared by the participants of the workshop during the 20 day long workshop was exhibited. They appreciated the work done by the participants. In his presidential address Dr Lalit Magotra, said that this workshop has proven a pioneer training for the participants of this workshop. He congratulated the participants to be a part of this meaningful workshop and also urged the host organizations to continue initiative to hone the talent of local artists.
Chief guest Ms Anjali Sharma, Director, Doordarshan , Jammu said that she was highly impressed by the work that had been done by the participants during this workshop and also endorsed the accelerated activities focusing rural and remote areas of Jammu region by the J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages. Special invitee N D Jamwal said that participants who have participated in the twenty day long workshop have learnt a lot about the theater designing and its techniques. Earlier Bapi Bose, a pass out form National School of Drama, New Delhi presented welcome address. The resource persons for the workshop included Souti Chakrabourty(Light Designing and Evolution, Arun Malik in make-up , mask and property making, Monoharan expect in sound designing, M.K.Raina in Production Mountingand and Ms Kriti G. Sharma in Costume expert . The workshop was organized under the expert supervision of Bapi Bose
J&K Academy also showcased the folk cultural items on the occasion in which C D Magotra presented a famous folk form (Haran), Smt Preeto Devi & Party came up with (Jagrana) and Mohan Lal & Party showed (Jatter) a primitive folk form. Dr Sudhir Mahajan, Sr. Drama Instructor of the Academy presented a paper entitled "Theatrical folk forms" .
In the end vote of thanks was presented by Dr Arivinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary of the Academy
