State, Centre Govts failed to take adequate steps after Punjab attack: Cong | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 5: Expressing a serious concern over deteriorating law and order situation in the state, the Congress leaders in a joint statement condemned the terror attacks in Udhampur district, saying it is most unfortunate that the Govt of India and the State Govt have not taken adequate precautions even after the strike by the militants at Dinanagar in Punjab in recent past. In a joint statement, the congress leaders have expressed a serious concern over the increase in militancy activities and deteriorating law and order situation in the state. Further, charging central and state government, they stated that it is most unfortunate that the Govt of India and the State Govt. have not taken adequate precautions even after the strike by the militants at Dinanagar in Punjab. While condemning the terror attack on the Jammu- Srinagar National Highway at Samroli in district Udhampur in which 2 BSF Jawans sacrificed their lives and eight Jawans are injured, the leaders conveyed their heartfelt condolences towards the brave martyr's and sympathies to those who were injured in the attack. They however described this action of militants a part of their bigger plan to disturb the 'Holy Amarnath Yatra' to create communal violence in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. The leaders however reiterated that the militants those are functioning under the directions of ISI of Pakistan, will never succeed in their evil designs. The Congress leaders also expressed their serious concern over the continuous ceasefire violations, along the IB/LoC in which the civilian population has been made target by the Pakistan army and are facing serious damage to both life and property. They urged upon the central government and also the state government to take pro-active steps to deal with the situation effectively. Referring to the anti-national forces are raising their ugly heads in which the pro Pakistan elements are unfurling Pakistani / ISIS flags frequently in different parts of valley, the congress leaders demanded a strong action against such anti national forces. They added that it is the high time for the Govt. to take serious note of the situation and act effectively.
