Rajouri, Aug 5: Continuing its drive against bovine smugglers, the Police today foiled two bovine smuggling bids with the arrest of two persons and rescuing eleven animals while they were taking animals on foot towards valley. "After specific inputs, the team from Thanamandi police headed by inspector NS Chib and under the supervision of Iftqar Talib SDPO arrested two bovine smugglers identified as Mohd Ayoub and Abdul Hamid residents of Lah and Saj respectively of Rajouri district, police said. Police said, "The accused were taking the animals illegally on foot to Srinagar via Mughal road and on failing to procure documents regard carry animals from one district to another they were held on the spot." "The duo has been booked in case FIR No 105 /13 under sections 188RPC and 3 PCA, police added. Yet in another similar bid, Rajouri Police led by inspector Yashpal Singh Jamwal ,SHO under the supervision of DySP (HQs) Hamid Choudhary rescued seven bovine animals from the clutches of unidentified persons, who were on foot and heading towards Mughal road but left animals on seeing the police at Kheora in Rajouri district. A case FIR No. 394/2015 u/s 188 RPC has been registered at Rajouri police station and investigation going on. Pertinent to mention that since this January Rajouri police in a drive against the bovine animal smugglers have rescued 475 animals from the clutches of 155 smugglers and also have seized 45 vehicles used for the smuggling of animals and 79 cases have been registered at various police stations in the district. |
