Jammu, Aug 5: Employees and officers working in LIC of India today resumed their agitation, which they had launched for wage revision. According to press release, they had suspended their agitational programme to demand early and satisfactory settlement of wage revision and to demand one more option for pension, with suspension of their proposed one day strike on 8th July 2015, after the LIC Management made a written appeal to the unions to suspend the strike. In response to the joint call of unions, a joint and massive demonstration was held outside LIC office, D.O.Cell Jammu, led by Narinder Sharma,Secretary LIC Class-1 Federation. Speaking on the occasion, the speakers condemned the attitude of the LIC Management which is ignoring the genuine demands of the employees who are demanding revision of their wages as per the performance and strength of the industry. The wage revision of employees has been due since 1st August 2012 and this inordinate delay has caused a big resentment among employees; and if an early and satisfactory response is not received, the agitation will be intensified, and the Management will be responsible for any serious industrial unrest.
