Ramban, Aug 5 : The Bar Association, several political parties and organizations have called for a bandh and peaceful protest in Ramban on August 8 in support of their demand for the establishment of AIIMS in Jammu. According to a handout, the President, Bar Association, Arjun Singh Raju today presided a meeting attended by the former MLA, Ramban, Ashok Kumar, President, J&K Gujjars and Bakerwals, Sarpanch Maitra, Choudhary Farooq, senior Congerss leader, Tariq Salim, National Conference leaders, Arif Wani and Amrit Varsha, President Bhagat Biradari, Ramban, Devi Ditta, President, Seerat Committee, Ramban, Showkat Mughal, Auto Union President, Nisar Ahmed, President, Ramban Chemists Association, Rocky Kotwal besides several advocates and prominent local citizens. Showing solidarity with the ongoing movement of the AIIMS Coordination Committee, Jammu, it was unanimously decided that the strike by the Bar members would continue and a Bandh would be observed and a peaceful protest demonstration would be taken out in Ramban for the cause. |
