Independence day celebrations likely to start Mini Stadium Parade to get maintenance 8/6/2015 12:47:57 AM Shiv Dev Thakur Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 5: As Independence Day is approaching, the renovation work at Mini stadium has been started by District Administration and the Stadium is getting renovation like every year. All the activities of the Sports which were going on in the Mini Stadium as a daily routine were ended up as the Stadium is acquired by the District Administration in order to hold maintenance drive as well as for the security reasons in furtherance of the coming Independence day celebrations at the same. The Sports persons can feel relieved after a long time and somewhat lazy too owing to being deprived of daily routine, moreover it is a positive step as if the renovation, cleanliness and maintenance of the Stadium is concerned. A sportsmen who used to do practice at the Mini stadium told Early Times that being a sportsperson, he is feeling a bit relieved after a long time that at least will get a facelift due to the preparation of the celebration for the Independence day. He added that the worn out Stadium will get a facelift and the pits and hurdles were to be filled up. Another sportsperson while talking to the Early Times shared that although the stadium is getting a facelift including Whitewash, cleanliness, water arrangements etc which is a great need for all the Sports persons affiliated with it, "but being a sports person it has some bad effects on us too as it deprives us from practicing which is a daily routine of sports area", he added. He further said that the sports activities were ended up from the last week and will resume after 17th owing to the security reasons.
