Kathashala organizes workshop for JPS teachers | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 24 : The Internationally renowned author and story teller Simi Srivastava held a four day workshop recently in Jodhamal School which was organized by KATH-ASHALA, especially for the teachers of Jodhamal Public School. According to press release, in current session the teachers from grade pre nursery to grade 5 underwent an intensive training on the "Importance of Emotions in Reading and Every Day Communication". The interactive session also threw light upon the scope of storytelling and how it can be used for Classroom Reading Strategies to make Reading more engaging and interactive and "Teaching of Grammar through Stories". The teachers were introduced to the steps involved in the process of storytelling. Under Simi's guidance the teachers learnt the technique of Making Paper Bag Puppets and its usage.The first three days of the visit were in continuation to module I wherein class evaluations and feedback sessions were conducted. The teachers were given a real-time experience through live demo sessions by Simi for grades pre-nursery to grade 5. It was an eventful journey of learning and we look forward to many more insightful sessions with her in future. Principal of the school Trilok Singh Bist said that teachers from Pre Primary to 5th attended her work shop and were observed via class observation as to whether they are using story telling as a tool to teach all the subjects. He admired the way Simi has transformed the teachers and their capabilities over the last five months and gave special appreciation for the teachers in adopting the new programme in the interest of the students at Jodhamal who are always at the crux of everything. |
