JAMMU, Aug 24: A senior police officer is alleged to have made it clear to a veteran BJP leader and Minister that he would proceed on Central deputation in case he was not posted as SSP, Jammu.
He was trying his level best to get posted as SSP, Jammu, and had been using all his political connections, according to police sources.
Sources said a senior BJP leader and Minister had already given him his consent in this regard. As both were from the same district, they enjoyed good relations, the sources informed.
He was earlier also posted in Jammu but was later transferred to police headquarters. In police circles, he is known as an upright and honest police officer. The BJP Minister was trying his best to ensure that he was posted in Jammu as SSP, sources said.
In case he was posted against the vacant post of SSP, Jammu, some IPS officers, who were senior to him and had been handling junior level posts in Jammu district, would have to be shifted to other places, the sources added.
"A proposal has already been made to post him as SSP, Jammu, keeping in view his honesty," sources said.
"If somehow he was not posted as SSP, Jammu, he would proceed on Central deputation," sources asserted. |
